Beckley mayor's ethic charges hearing continued

Posted:

Monday's hearing for Beckley Mayor Emmett Pugh about the ethics charges against him has been continued.

Joan Parker, Executive Director of the West Virginia Ethics Commission says a one month continuance was granted so both sides can work out a settlement regarding the mayor's ethics charges.

Parker says if an agreement is reached it will be presented at the West Virginia Ethics Commission's June meeting.

If no deal is reached, a hearing date will be set.

Mayor Pugh is accused of using his position and office for his own private financial gain.
