CU Board discusses direction of university

ATHENS, W.Va. (WVVA)- Concord University Board of Governors met Thursday to discuss different issues and the direction of the university.

Alumni Association President Jessica Cook spoke on behalf of graduates, expressing concern to the committee over the direction the university is heading.

The alumni have requested that two members of the association receive voting rights in the determination of the school's next president.

In executive session Thursday, the board chose Kendra Boggess as its interim president.

The board also voted to increase tuition and fees by five percent, which includes room and board.

The school has experienced a drop in enrollment as well as a low retention rate.
