FAYETTE COUNTY (WVVA) - A Mount Olive inmate accused killing another has been found guilty of first-degree murder.

Christopher Cox, 26, was given a life sentence without mercy Wednesday for the 2011 slaying of 30-year-old Joseph Braddock while both were serving at Mount Olive Prison.

The two-day trial concluded Wednesday afternoon.

Cox was already serving a 10-year sentence for second-degree murder.

FAYETTE COUNTY (WVVA) - The trial of a Mount Olive inmate accused of stabbing to death another inmate is underway.

Prosecutors say Christopher Cox stabbed 30-year old Joseph Braddock in September 2011.

A  jury was selected Tuesday morning and opening argument started by afternoon.

In opening testimony, the state called prison employees and showed a video of the two inmates fighting.

Cox is already serving a 10-year sentence for second-degree murder and second-degree robbery.

Testimony continues Wednesday.
