"Siri" sees competition from Google's virtual assistant

NBC News--Google sets its sights on "Siri."  Google's virtual assistant, called "Google Now," is now available as part of a free Google search iPhone and iPad app.

It's the first time "Google Now" has been available for non-android devices.  The app performs many of the same functions as Apple's "Siri".

But "Google Now" is programmed to go beyond "Siri" anticipating a user's preferences and finding the information before the user even asks for it.
