PRINCETON (WVVA) - A pair who each pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in connection with a Mercer County slaying received their sentences today.

Thomas Tyler Hall and Tammy Keen received 40 years each on convictions of second-degree murder in Judge William Sadler's court Monday morning.

Both individuals were initially charged with first-degree murder in the 2011 slaying of Timothy Dewitt, but pleaded guilty to the lesser charges earlier this year.

According to previous reports, police said Hall and Keen conspired to set up and rob the 41-year-old Dewitt at an area near the gorge off Eads Mill Road in early 2011.

Dewitt's body was found in March 2011 by a bridge maintenance worker. He had been shot multiple times.

Keen was also sentenced to 10 years for first-degree robbery.

Hall and Keen were both given credit for 265 days already served.
