Prescription Take Back

PRINCETON (WVVA)--- Prescription drugs continue to be a problem in West Virginia especially in the souther coal fields. But Saturday was a chance to combat that issue.

It was the annual prescription drug take back day across West Virginia.

Many counties had drop-off locations for people to turn in their expired, unused prescription medication for proper disposal.

Greg Puckett of Community Connections says that this is the safest way to get rid of the drugs opposed to flushing them down the toilet or letting them sit in landfills.

If you have medication that you were not able to drop-off today, there are always locations in Mercer, McDowell, Wyoming, Monroe, Greenbrier and Wyoming counties.
