Austin drafted to Rams, Smith waits another day

Posted:

NEW YORK (WVVA) - West Virginia wide receiver Tavon Austin didn't have to wait long to hear his name called during the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft. His quarterback, however, is still waiting.

The St. Louis Rams traded up eight spots with Buffalo to take the explosive Austin with the eighth overall pick at Radio City Music Hall in New York City Thursday evening.

Meanwhile, highly-touted Mountaineer quarterback Geno Smith -- who had been projected by many draft experts as the best quarterback available -- went undrafted in Round 1.

The NFL Draft resumes Friday evening with rounds 2 and 3.
