Suspect in deadly fire back in court

LEWISBURG (WVVA) - A Greenbrier County man charged with felony murder as a result of arson was back in court Monday.

Harvey Lee Davis, 35, of Orient Hill appeared before Magistrate Beard in Greenbrier County for a preliminary hearing. Probable cause was found to send the case to the grand jury.

Police say Davis has admitted that he set 56-year-old Dennis Williams' home in Leslie on fire following a verbal argument about a chainsaw, and he used a lighter to ignite the couch on the porch.

Williams died in the blaze.

The grand jury meets in June.
