ATHENS (WVVA)--- Most seniors that are preparing to graduate college are just trying to get their work done and move on with their lives. But one local student decided to go above the call from the classroom.

Kylie Kirn, a Concord University senior organized a 5K run for her senior project, but the run means more than just a grade.

"James and I are really good friends and I just wanted to try and help him through his injury," said Kirn.

The run is to benefit former Concord student James Caudill who has suffered a traumatic brain injury in an accident on-campus. Caudill has been confined to a bed.

"It has been tough, we have done a lot of praying. He keeps getting better everyday and seeing that has helped us keep going," says his brother Joey Caudill.

If you would like to help the Caudill family with medical expenses you can go to their website at
