Federal and State officials visit local schools to discuss drug issues and bullying


BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (WVVA)- United States Attorney Booth Goodwin, U.S. Marshal John Foster and West Virginia Air National Guard Major Gen. James Hoyer met with students at Bluefield Middle to discuss issues involving drugs and bullying.

The group also made an appearance at Western Greenbrier Middle School in Greenbrier County, W.Va.

The visit was organized as an awareness program that is designed to increase community awareness about prescription drugs abuse as well as the dangers of other drugs. While there they also discussed bullying and social media misuses.

These school visits have been organized as part of an ongoing awareness initiative led by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District.
