BECKLEY (WVVA) - How would you feel if you had to go to work, the store, pump gas, all without shoes?  A Raleigh County group found out what that was like.

Members of the United Way teamed up with the Appalachian Coal Country Team to participate in a global event called "One Day Without Shoes."

The Toms shoe company organized the movement, which is designed to spark conversation and raise awareness about children's health and education -- and the real-life situations less-fortunate children have to go through every day.
