PEARISBURG, Va. (AP) -- Glen Lynn's mayor will spend five months in jail on charges stemming from a domestic incident.

Mayor Thomas "Rick" Ould was accused of firing a handgun into the air and putting the weapon to his wife's head on Jan. 29.

Special prosecutor Mike Fleenor tells The Roanoke Times that Ould pleaded guilty to assault and battery and brandishing a firearm. The 57-year-old mayor was sentenced Monday in Giles County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court.

Fleenor is the Pulaski County commonwealth's attorney. Giles County Commonwealth's Attorney Bobby Lilly recused himself and Fleenor was assigned to the case.
