PRINCETON (WVVA) -- A Mercer County mom will face the grand jury and charge related to the shooting death of another mom.

42-year-old Judith Kowaleski was in magistrate court for a preliminary hearing Friday.

Police say she shot 42-year-old Elizabeth Slagle once in the chest after an argument that allegedly began over their children fighting on the school bus.

Trooper J.C. Teubert of the West Virginia State Police Princeton detachment testified. Teubert responded to the scene of the shooting.

The defense attempted to show there was not enough evidence to support the first-degree murder charge. The state disagreed saying the fact Kowaleski brought a gun with her to the meeting proved the act was pre-meditated.
