CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Authorities in West Virginia say a star of the MTV reality show "BUCKWILD" and two passengers all died of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Twenty-one-year-old Shain Gandee, his uncle and another passenger were found dead Monday. Gandee's 1984 Ford Bronco was stuck in a mud hole, its tail pipe submerged. It's possible the gas could have filled the cabin because of the clogged exhaust pipe.

The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department says autopsies completed Tuesday confirmed the three men died from the gas.

Their deaths have been ruled accidental.

The victims' bodies have been released to funeral homes, but no arrangements have yet been announced.

Shooting for the second season of the show set around Sissonville and Charleston has been suspended.

CHARLESTON (WVVA) - A star of MTV's West Virginia-based series 'Buckwild' has been found dead in Kanawha County after going missing early Sunday.

Kanawha County authorities confirmed that 21-year-old Shain Gandee and two other individuals were found dead in a truck.

Thee other individuals were identified as Shain's 48-year-old uncle David Gandee and 27-year-old Donald Robert Myers.

Gandee and his uncle had been reported missing since early Sunday. They were last seen at a bar in Sissonville and reportedly said they planned to go four-wheeling in Shain's Ford Bronco.

Reports say officers had to use ATVs to access the area where the Bronco was found, near Wolf Pen Lane in Sissonville. The vehicle was found stuck in mud.

While the cause of their deaths was being investigated, the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department said the Bronco's muffler was below the surface and that mud covered the passenger side.

No foul play is expected.

A statement on MTV's website reads:

"We are shocked and saddened by the terrible news about Shain Gandee, and those involved in this tragic incident. We are waiting for more information but at this time, our main concern is for the Gandee family and their friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with them. Shain had a magnetic personality, with a passion for life that touched everyone he met and we will miss him dearly."

"It's a very sad day for this county," Kanawha County Commissioner Kent Carper told MTV News. "This is a small place and just about everyone in this community knows everybody."

'Buckwild' debuted in January to high ratings on MTV. The half-hour, 12-episode series follows nine friends who find crazy ways to fill their free time, from clubbing in Morgantown to turning dump trucks into swimming pools.

The series was largely filmed in Sissonville and Charleston.

The show was met with criticism, most notably from Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., for what some see as a stereotypical, negative portrayal of the state's youth.

Since the show debuted, two regular cast members have had run-ins with the law.

In February, 24-four-year-old Salwa Amin was arrested in Nicholas County and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Later that month, Michael Douglas 'Bluefoot' Buford was arrested on a charge of aggravated driving under the influence.

A second season of the show was green-lit by MTV in February.

SISSONVILLE, W.Va. (AP) -- A "BUCKWILD" cast member and his uncle are missing.

The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department said Monday in a news release that 21-year-old Shain Gandee and his uncle, 48-year-old David Gandee, were last seen around 3 a.m. Sunday at a bar in Sissonville.

Cpl. B.D. Humphreys says family members reported them missing after searching for them and trying to contact them Sunday.

Humphreys says the Sissonville residents had planned to go four-wheeling but didn't say where.

Foul play isn't suspected.

Anyone who has information about the men's whereabouts is asked to contact the sheriff's department at 304-357-0169.

The MTV show was filmed largely around Sissonville and Charleston.
