Annual Chamber dinner honors local business leader

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W. Va (WVVA)-- The Annual Greater Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce meeting commenced at The Greenbrier resort on Tuesday.

"This is a great place to network," said Selina Cahill, President of the Chamber.

"I think being in Greenbrier County as a business provides a lot of opportunity to grow," said Cahill. "We are able to help provide support to new businesses so they can get on their feet and be successful."

At the meeting Robin Hildebrand, creator of Blue Smoke Salsa, shared an inspirational story about entrepreneurship with guests.

Marlene Jolliffe was also honored. She has been named the Chamber's "Business Leader of the Year."

Jolliffe works as CEO of the State Fair of West Virginia. Under her leadership, the fair has grown and continues to draw more people to the Greenbrier Valley. Jolliffe is also the chair of the International Association of Fairs and Expositions.

"I'm very humbled and honored," said Jolliffe. "Our Fair institution represents something big for this community."

She told WVVA she hopes to be an inspiration to other women who have big dreams.

"I hope young women see me, and see women like me, and... aspire to be more than they ever thought they could be," she said.

Cahill said the Chamber has exciting events planned for the rest of the year.
