Pit Bull Owners Upset With City

BLUEFIELD, WV (WVVA)--- Pit Bull breed owners in Bluefield are speaking out loudly at the decision by the Bluefield City Board to create an ordinance banning the breed.

"I think the ban is just absurd, absurd in my opinion," says Keisha Farming an owner of a Pit Bull breeded dog.

"It is putting my dogs at risk for something someone else did."

Bluefield's city attorney says that current Pit Bull owners will not be affected.

"If you currently have a pit bull in the city of Bluefield and you are complying with all the regulations then you will be fine," says Brian Cochran.

"But after this ordinance is passed then there will be no more pit bulls in Bluefield."
