CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- U.S. Rep. Nick Rahall is asking the FBI to consider West Virginia for its new headquarters.
Rahall spoke Wednesday at a Congressional hearing to help determine the future location of the federal agency's headquarters.
The West Virginia Democrat is on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, which oversees the planning of public federal buildings.
Rahall pointed out that the FBI's Criminal Justice Information Services Division is located Clarksburg and that the agency owns nearly 1,000 acres there that could accommodate future expansion.
A decision on the relocation of the FBI's headquarters in Washington, D.C., is expected in the coming year.
