Car strikes Dairy Queen in Fairlea

FAIRLEA, W. Va (WVVA)--A Dodge truck hit the Dairy Queen in Fairlea just before the "drive-thru" window on Monday.

It happened around 6 PM, said Corporal Reed with the West Virginia State Police.

The driver was unable to control the vehicle after it malfunctioned, and as he pulled around the back of the building he could not avoid the side of the Dairy Queen, said Reed.

There was a small amount of damage to the outside of the building, and a wall on the inside was slightly buckled as a result.

One of the Dairy Queen co-owners said this would not affect how business runs, but they would have to find a way to get the building repaired. It had recently been reconstructed after a remodel.

Police said alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
