Summers Co. man charged in separate Wyoming Co. hit-and-run

BRENTON (WVVA) - A Summers County man has been arrested after a hit-and-run incident in Wyoming County Thursday.

The Wyoming County Sheriff's Office says a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the Brenton area around 6:45 p.m. Thursday.

The vehicle fled the scene. During the investigation, deputies were able to get a description of the suspect vehicle.

The vehicle was located a short time later in the Indian Creek area and the driver was taken into custody.

The suspect, Roger Hurley, 32, of Jumping Branch in Summers County was arrested and charged with malicious wounding.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Hurley is being held at Southern Regional Jail on $10,000 bond in connection with the Wyoming County incident.

He has also been indicted in Summers County on an unrelated grand larceny charge. Bond on that charge is listed at $25,000.
