MCDOWELL COUNTY (WVVA) - Voters in McDowell County can expect some changes next time they are at the polls.

According to the county clerk, six precincts have been consolidated for efficency.

Previously, there have been 43 voting precincts, now there are 37.

Precincts which contained 200 voters or less have now been consolidated with larger precincts. The changes effect the areas of North Elkins, Sandy River and Big Creek.

The county clerk's office has mailed out new voter registration cards to all that have been affected, however, any voter who had not previously updated their mailing address may not receive their card.

All voters who need to update their registration or have questions and concerns should contact the McDowell County clerk's office at 304-436-8544.
