WELCH (WVVA) - A McDowell County woman is behind bars after her boyfriend was found stabbed to death Saturday night.
42-year-old Shonna Riffe is charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of 34-year-old Billy Haney.
Chief E.A. Muncy with the Welch PD says the two were boyfriend and girlfriend.
Welch Police responded to the residence the couple shared at 605 Central Avenue in Welch at approximately 10 p.m. Saturday night on reports of a domestic dispute.
Upon arrival, officers found Haney dead.
Riffe was arrested Sunday and charged with murder. She is currently being held in Welch.
Officers W. Rutherford, S.P. McKinney and A.D. Perry assisted in the arrest, along with the West Virginia State Police.
