PRINCETON (WVVA)--- Students went to school on Saturday but not to go to class. They filled Pikeview Middle School for the 2013 Region 1 West Virginia History Bowl.
17 teams from nine different schools competed from multiple southern counties.
The questions are all about West Virginia history.
The winner of the competition was the Shady Spring Middle School Team 1 and the runner-up was the Shady Spring Middle School Team 2.
Both teams will head to Charleston for the state competition in April.
