Two arrested on drug trafficking charges in Fayette County

OAK HILL -- Two Nicholas County residents have been arrested in connection with drug trafficking charges. Sheriff Steve Kessler released the following information concerning these arrests:

On Wednesday, February 27, 2013 the Central WV Drug Task Force received information that two individuals from the Summersville area of Nicholas County were attempting to purchase a large quantity of prescription Roxycodone pills. Using confidential informants, agents of the Drug Task Force arranged to meet with these individuals at the Holiday Lodge in Oak Hill, Fayette County, WV.
The two Nicholas County residents met with the confidential informants at the Holiday Lodge and paid these two confidential informants $4,745.00 for two hundred Roxycodone pills. Agents of the Drug Task Force then took the two suspects into custody and recovered the drugs that they had just purchased.
Eddie Ray Davis, age 31, of Mt. Lookout, WV and Hannah Sebert, age 26, of Summersville, WV were arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony. Both individuals were arraigned in the Magistrate Court of Fayette County and were remanded to the Southern Regional Jail in lieu of a $100,000.00 bond for each individual. This incident remains under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office and by the Central WV Drug Task Force.
"We are seeing an ever-increasing number of cases where drug dealers are trafficking prescription pills as opposed to more common street drugs," said Sheriff Kessler. "Although cocaine, crack, heroin and methamphetamine are still out there, the majority of the cases we have been investigating in recent months have involved the illicit sale and distribution of prescription pain pills."

Anyone having any information concerning drug dealing or other criminal activity is urged to contact the Fayette County Sheriff's Office at (304) 574-4216, Crime Stoppers at (304) 255-7867 or you may submit a tip thru either the Crime Tips section of the Sheriff's Office website, or thru our Department Facebook page, "Fayette County Sheriff's Department."
