He says groups are running ads that are misleading, adding those groups claim the government wants to take away guns in light of recent gun violence. He says no one wants to take away guns.
He points out he and other senators from both parties are working on a bill requiring criminal and mental background checks.
"I know as a proud gun owner they are not going to take my guns away, not going to repeal 2nd amendment and I can assure you that's not even on the table. This is something that's reasonable and we should try and do this," says Senator Manchin, (D)-West Virginia
