Fire destroys a home in Frankford

Posted:

FRANKFORD, W. Va (WVVA)-- Several fire crews were dispatched to fight a blaze in the freezing rain Tuesday morning.

The fire happened at a home on Germany Road in Frankford. Firefighters said it began as a flue fire, but then rapidly spread through the eves of the home and became a structure fire.

The Frankford Volunteer Fire Department was the first on the scene around 7:30 AM, but Williamsburg, Lewisburg and Fairlea crews also responded. The Northern Greenbrier Ambulance Service came out as well.

There were no injuries, and firefighters said everyone living in the home was able to make it out safely.

Some of the residents' possessions were saved from the blaze, but Captain Ryan Whitt from the Frankford Volunteer Fire Department said the home was a total loss.
