BLUEFIELD (WVVA) - Police say speed played a role in a crash that claimed the life of a Bluefield man over the weekend.
Benjamin Koen, 21, of Bluefield was killed Saturday when his pickup truck crashed over an embankment at the intersection of Route 19 and Grassy Branch Road in Bluefield.
Police say the truck went through the guardrail and traveled nearly 60 feet before it landed.
No other vehicles were involved. Koen was the only occupant of the vehicle.
