BLUEFIELD (WVVA) - For the third time in six years, WVVA has been named Television Station of the Year by the West Virginia Broadcasters Association.

WVVA received the honor at the WVBA's annual Excellence in Broadcasting Awards banquet in Charleston Saturday.

General Manager Frank Brady accepted the award in front of hundreds of representatives from television and radio stations across the Mountain State.

Brady was also honored with the 2012 Mel Burka Broadcaster of the Year Award.

The Burka Award is the highest achievement given to an individual by the WVBA. Brady joins a list of 37 men and women who have received the honor.

Also honored were WVVA's Creative Services Director Andy DePue and Account Executive Nathan Hendrick -- who won the Best Television Creative Award for the commercial 'It's Not How You Drive.'

WVVA has won the Best Creative Award four years in a row.

WVVA was also named Station of the Year in 2007 and 2009.
