Bluefield Police cruiser torched

BLUEFIELD (WVVA) - Bluefield Police believe someone is trying to send a message after a cruiser was torched at the department Friday morning.

Officer J.W. Murray Jr. say an accelerant to set fire to the car at around 5:20 a.m.

Murray said he tried to put out the fire with an extinguisher. The fire department arrived soon after.

Murray says the department is treating the incident as a threat.

The fire is under investigation.
