    MONTCALM, W.Va. (AP) -- A barn demolition project in Mercer County has uncovered a 19th century log school. Brian Pigg discovered the hand-hewn logs at his barn's core while removing siding. The barn is located on Browning Lambert Mountain in the Montcalm area. Retired Montcalm High School history teacher Jack Johnson tells the Bluefield Daily Telegraphthat the log structure was once known as the Mullins School. GLEN JEAN -- A Fayette County man has been arrested on charges involving a stolen vehicle and theft charges in Oak Hill. Sheriff Steve W. Kessler released the following information regarding this arrest.
On Tuesday February 12th 2013, a Fayette County Sheriff's Deputy made contact with a vehicle on U.S. Route 19 in Glen Jean bearing registration out of the State of Georgia. The Deputy Sheriff was notified by the Fayette County 911 Center that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Georgia on February 9th 2013.
Deputies made contact with the driver of this vehicle at this time and took him into custody. The driver, Corte Dandre Treyon Lawson (age 21 of Oak Hill) was arrested on a Felony charge of Receiving/Transferring a Stolen Vehicle. Shortly thereafter Sheriff's Deputies were advised that Lawson also had an active felony warrant for Grand Larceny obtained by the Oak Hill Police Department in December of 2012.
Lawson was remanded to the Southern Regional Jail to await arraignment through the Fayette County Magistrate Court. This incident remains under investigation by Sgt. S.L. Campbell and Deputy A.E. Roberts of the Fayette County Sheriff's Department.
