'Interim' title removed from Bluefield's Police Chief

BLUEFIELD (WVVA) - The City of Bluefield's new police chief was officially sworn in on Tuesday.

Chief Dennis Dillow was officially sworn in to the post during Tuesday's Board of Directors meeting. Dillow had been serving as interim chief since the retirement of Chief Joe Wilson in December 2012.

Dillow is a longtime member of the Bluefield police force. He joined the department in 1990 as a patrolman, and has worked his way through the ranks.

In addition to Dillow, four new officers were also sworn-in Tuesday.
