Carilion Surveys Community on Ways to Better Serve

TAZEWELL CO (WVVA) - One local not-for-profit is searching for ways to better serve the community.

To better understand the health status of the community, Carilion Clinic is embarking on a process of identifying the unmet needs through a community health needs assessment.

Along with a team of community representatives who work with vulnerable populations, the Community Health Assessment Team is looking to gather information from the community to identify and analyze community health needs.

"We are working toward improving the health of the communities we serve and ask that community members hare their feedback with us through a short survey," explained Kathren Dowdy, chief nursing officer and chief operations officer at Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital.

"The results of the survey  will be used to determine the unique health needs in the communities and will be available to the public."

The survey is open to all members of the New River Valley through April. To access the survey by phone, call 1-888-964-6620. To take the survey online visit
