Pregnant woman, fiance lose home to fire

Posted:

GHENT (WVVA) - An early-morning fire has left a nine-month pregnant woman and her fiance homeless.

Officials say the fire started around 6:30 a.m. at a mobile home on Sam Hale Road in Ghent. Crews from Ghent and Coal City were on scene for approximately three hours.

The couple lost nearly everything in the home to the home -- including half of their 10 dogs.

The woman, 20-year-old Tracy Stowers, says she can't believe the unthinkable happened.

"Our house is gone now," Stowers said. "Everything -- everything we own."
