'Flip-a-thon' helps local child in need

BLUEFIELD VA. (WVVA) - A local college community is doing its part to help an ailing child.

Bluefield College cheerleaders -- along with Peak Gymnastics Training Center -- hosted a 'Flip-a-thon' during the men's recent basketball game against Rio Grande.

All the money raised by the event will go to three-year-old Reese McCall of Tazewell who was recently diagnosed with leukemia.

Coach Katie Jones says the event was a  fun and unique way to help raise money for a worthy cause.

More than $800 was raised during the event.
