DAVY (WVVA) - A man was killed in McDowell County Friday morning after being struck by a train.
According to a news release from the McDowell County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the call in the Mary Town Hunting Shirt Bottom area of Davy at approximately 7:20 a.m.
Upon arrival deputies found the victim -- a 38-year-old white male -- dead at the scene.
The victim's name is not being released at this time pending notification of family.
The Sheriff's Office is being assisted in the investigation by the Norfolk Southern Railroad Police.
