Rhodell Volunteer Firefighter Rescued By His Own Fire Department

RHODELL (WVVA)- A West Virginia Firefighter's home is engulfed in flames and his own fire department is called upon to save him.

Nathan Shrewsbury, a firefighter with the Rhodell Volunteer Fire Department, was sound asleep one morning when he awoke from cries by his two dogs to find his home was engulfed in flames.

Nathan was able to save his two dogs and himself before he passed out from severe smoke inhalation.

Crews from his own fire station responded immediately to help Nathan and his dogs, but were unable to save his home.

The fire department is now trying to raise money to help Nathan get a new home. If you would like to donate money to help Nathan out, you can call the Rhodell Volunteer Fire Department at 304-683-3420.
