Community Members Come to Curb Violence

Posted:

BECKLEY (WVVA)--- Members of the Beckley community came together Friday night to discuss school safety.

"This violence knows no bounds, no political boundaries, no income boundaries, it is truly across our entire country," says Congressman Nick Rahall.

Since the Sandy Hook Elementary shootings the focus have been mainly on guns, but that is not the only violence that goes on.

"The last four assaults have been stabbing," says Raleigh County Sheriff Steve Tanner

"It is a violence issue and it is about protecting our children and having a better community."
