Teacher resigns amid misconduct investigation

Posted:

GARDNER (WVVA) - A PikeView High School teacher and coach has resigned amid an investigation into allegations of misconduct with students.

This resignation of Jonathon Kirk, of Princeton, was accepted by the Board of Education during a meeting Tuesday night.

The resignation comes after a police investigation was launched by Sgt. Clemons of the West Virginia State Police. Clemons will not comment on the investigation at this time.

School Board officials will not comment on the nature of the investigation, but say Kirk was suspended without pay on January 15, 2013.

Kirk taught physical education, coached the school's wrestling team and was an assistant football coach.

WVVA will continue to keep you updated with the latest on the investigation.
