BLUEFIELD (WVVA) - It's time to file your income taxes, and experts say the sooner the better.
If you need assistance, you're advised to make an appointment as soon as possible.
Experts also remind people to come prepared -- and bring all the correct forms.
Once your takes are filed, the next step is spending your refund wisely.
"When folks get that return the tendency is to go out and buy something," said financial planner Craig Nash. "Our advice is to plan for those unforeseen things."
Free tax assistance is available from the United Way of the Virginias -- in partnership with students from Bluefield State College and Concord University.
Volunteers will be on hand at Concord on Feb. 5 and Bluefield State on Feb. 7 to provide free help.
