Snow prints lead police to W.Va. suspect's home

Posted:

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Chalk up this arrest to dogged police pursuit and winter weather.

The Charleston Gazette reports that Kanawha County sheriff's deputies arrested a man over the weekend by following his footprints in the snow for three miles.

The suspect was seen attempting to enter a trailer owned by a rock quarry company but bolted for the woods after the owner approached him.

Two officers responded to the scene and followed fresh boot prints in the snow. They ultimately arrested the 37-year-old suspect at his home in South Charleston.

Besides the soles of his boots matching the prints in the snow, a description provided by the business owner matched the man.
