2 arrested in Fayette County breaking and entering

FAYETTEVILLE (WVVA) - Two men have been arrested after allegedly breaking into a Fayette County grocery store over the weekend.

Raymond Heath Shockey, 30, and Michael Ray Cooley, 27 -- both of Fayetteville -- were arrested without incident shortly after the reported break-in at Ball's Grocery on Route 16.

The suspects allegedly entered the store by using a hammer to break the glass door. Once inside, police say the suspects stole several cartons of cigarettes and attempted to pry open an ATM machine.

The suspects were identified -- with help from the owner and employees -- after a review of surveillance video from inside the store.

Cooley was released on $10,000 bond.

Shockey was being held at Southern Regional Jail on $10,000 bond. He was already on probation for an earlier breaking and entering conviction at the same store.
