Fayette Co. Sheriff Utilizing Facebook

FAYETTEVILLE (WVVA)--- A local Sheriff's Department is using Facebook to their advantage to help inform the public and give safety tips.

Chief Deputy Mike Fridley says that the department has over 2,000 likes so far on their page.

He says Facebook is just another way to communicate with the public through press releases and safety tips.

This is also a way that the public can communicate with deputies as well.

"A lot of people won't call in and stuff, but they can be behind a computer and send you a message and say hey, I've seen this or I've seen that or they might want to complain about somebody and they can complain that way, so it's all confidential," says Chief Deputy Fridley

"Even some crimes have been solved because of facebook."
