Last year's warm winter a distant memory

BLUEFIELD (WVVA)--- With more snow this weekend, the warm temperatures of last winter seem to be a distant memory.

"It is normal, I have grown up in this area all my life and this is normal to me," said Steve Hamilton, a Princeton native.

With about 3 inches of snow Friday, Bluefield is now up to about 29 inches for the winter. That is well above the close to 20 inches we saw all winter last year (October-February).

"Did not have to clean my driveway off. And you can get out and about without having to put a coat on," said Hamilton.

Chief Meteorologist Janna Brown says to expect more this year. She says temperatures are expected to be below normal in February, and that could mean several more inches of snow.
