Local fire dept. to hold open house, discuss fire levy

Posted:

CLINTONVILLE, W. Va-- The Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department will be holding an Open House on February 21, 2013 at 6 p.m.

The fire department said Friday that this is for the community to come and ask questions about the fire levy.

Greenbrier County residents will have a chance to vote for a fire levy to be instituted in the county in March of this year. If passed, the money raised through the levy would go toward fire station construction and maintenance, office equipment, fire vehicles, training expenses, etc.

Local fire departments tell WVVA they need this extra funding to keep their doors open.

Clintonville's fire department said, "We encourage our community residents and surrounding areas to attend, refreshments will be served."
