COUNCIL (WVVA)--- Two people are dead after a single-vehicle accident Thursday night.
Virginia State Police say that the accident happened near the 4800 block of Helen Henderson Highway in Council, Buchanan County.
A 2001 Chevy Malibu was traveling west on Route 80 when it ran off the side of the road, flipped, and struck a tree.
22-year-old Nathaniel Gilbert and 20-year-old Christopher Gilbert both of Vansant, died at the scene of the crash.
Two other passengers were taken to Bristol Regional Medical Center, their conditions are unknown at this time.
Police say that no one was wearing their seatbelt at the time of the accident and that alcohol played a factor in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
