Icy patch blamed for crash in Lewisburg

LEWISBURG (WVVA) - A driver was uninjured after an icy patch apparently caused a truck to slide off the road.

The crash occurred on McElhenny Road in Lewisburg Thursday morning.

According to Lewisburg Fire Chief Wayne Pennington, the driver claimed he hit a patch of ice and lost control of the vehicle.

Crews were able to get the driver out of the truck unharmed. The road was closed briefly while crews cleared the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
