Fire in Frankford destroys truck

FRANKFORD, W. Va (WVVA)-- A young man was driving a Dodge Dakota pickup down Route 219 when it caught fire.

Emergency responders said the call came in at 7:39 PM.

The Frankford Fire Department and West Virginia State Police responded, and the Renick Fire Department was on standby.

The driver told responders he heard a noise coming from the vehicle, and then it caught fire near the engine.

He was able to pull over and get out while crews responded.

Flames were coming out of the cab and the truck was fully engulfed in fire when they arrived. They hosed around 250 gallons of water on the fire and were able to safely put it out.

Firefighters say no one was injured.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
