OAK HILL (WVVA) - An Oak Hill man has been charged with murder after a man was found unresponsive in his apartment.
On Monday, Oak Hill Police responded to a trespassing call at the apartment of Jeffrey Dale Lafferty at 1440 East Main Street.
Upon arrival, officers found a victim, 46-year-old Michael Sheets, unresponsive inside the apartment. Sheets -- who resides in the Scarbro area -- was transported to Plateau Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
From information obtained in the initial investigation police arrest Lafferty, 39, and charged him with murder.
Lafferty is being held at Southern Regional Jail.
Sheets' body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office
