ROANOKE, Va. - About 9,500 Appalachian Power customers in Virginia remain without electricity following last week's winter storm.

The company's website shows Grayson County has the largest number of outages at 2,359.

Appalachian Power says it expects to restore electricity to customers in Scott, Smyth and Washington counties by Monday night.

Electricity is expected to be restored to customers in Bland, Carroll, Floyd, Giles, Grayson, Montgomery, Pulaski and Wythe counties, and the city of Galax, by Tuesday night.

The first significant winter storm of the season arrived late last Thursday.

Appalachian Power serves about half a million customers in Virginia.
