Schools taking precautions against the flu

Posted:

PRINCETON (WVVA) - As the number of flu cases around the nation increase -- local schools are taking action to prevent the spread of the virus.

Schools are making sure students understand how to stay germ free by adding hand sanitizers around the buildings.

They also have several posters reminding kids to cover their coughs and sneezes with their elbows and to always wash their hands.

At least 20 children are reported to have died so far this winter from the flu.

It's too early to tell if the rate is higher than a typical year -- in which 100 children die by the end of flu season.
