NICHOLAS COUNTY (WVVA) - A man accused of murdering four people from Greenbrier County last year pleaded not guilty to the crimes in court Tuesday.

The case against James Roy Belknap will now go to trial. Belknap is charged in the murders of Steven Hendrix, his girlfriend, Amber Martin, and two children, 4-year-old Kaylee Hendrix and 6-year-old Dakota Hendrix.

The four victims were reported missing out of Greenbrier County on Monday, May 21, 2012. Their bodies were discovered the following Saturday.

Belknap was arrested two days later.

Court documents have shown that Belknap owed Steven Hendrix money from a drug debt and that the two "had been fighting about the payment."

Belknap appeared before Judge Gary Johnson in Nicholas County Circuit Court. He will next appear in court on April 16.
